This years Remembrance is looking very different due to the Covid 19 pandemic. We hope you have all seen the flags that have been put up on the green opposite the young vanish and outside the Glapwell Centre. If anyone would like to leave any token of remembrance at the flags at the Glapwell Centre we will ensure these are taken to the War Memorial.
There are several other ways in which you can get involved.
The Royal British Legion has a number of ways you can help them raise funds, including a downloadable poppy for children to colour in, in turn for a small donation. https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/
Children/adults are being encouraged to paint a poppy on a pebble and leave it around the village. Then by remembrance Sunday children could pick up a painted pebble and leave it at the war memorial – names of those we remember who gave the ultimate sacrifice could be painted on the pebbles too.
Alternatively Cllr. Patricia Clough has some wood slices that can be decorated to be taken to the war memorial. Cllr. Cough can be contacted on 07882 623913 –email@example.com
Cllr Anthony Trafford will be laying a wreath on behalf of Glapwell Community at the Remembrance Service this year.
